Saanjh Sitara
Terms & Conditions
Effective 22 July 2026 · Last updated 22 July 2026
These terms govern your use of the Saanjh Sitara website and any purchase you make from us. Please read them before using the site.
The short version: this site is a catalogue, not a checkout. Every purchase is arranged directly with us over WhatsApp or email, and a sale becomes binding only once we confirm it to you in writing.
1.These terms, and your acceptance of them
These Terms & Conditions govern your access to and use of this website and the catalogue published on it. By browsing the site, sending us an enquiry through it, or placing an order with us, you confirm that you have read these terms and agree to be bound by them, together with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of them. If you do not agree, please stop using the site.
The site is operated by Saanjh Sitara (“Saanjh Sitara”, “we”, “us”, “our”). In these terms “you” means the person using the site; “Products” means the sarees and other items shown on it; and an “Order” means a purchase we have confirmed to you in writing.
2.Who may use this site
You may use this site and place an Order only if you are able to enter into a legally binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872 — broadly, if you are at least 18 years old and of sound mind. If you are under 18 you may use the site only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, who will be responsible for any Order. By transacting with us you confirm that the information you give us is true, accurate and complete.
3.The catalogue is an invitation, not an offer
This website is a catalogue. It has no cart, no checkout and no payment gateway, and nothing on it constitutes a binding offer to sell. The Products displayed are an invitation to treat only.
When you contact us about a piece, that is an offer by you to buy it. A contract comes into existence only when we expressly confirm your Order to you in writing — on WhatsApp or by email — after checking that the piece is available. An automated or courtesy acknowledgement of your message is not a confirmation.
We may decline or cancel an enquiry or Order at any time before dispatch, including where the piece has already been sold, where a price or description was published in error, where we cannot deliver to your location, where we suspect fraud or misuse, or where we are unable to verify the details you have given us. If we cancel a confirmed Order for which you have already paid, we will refund you in full through the same method you used, without deduction.
4.Handloom variation and how our pieces are shown
Our sarees are handwoven and hand-finished in small batches. Slight irregularities in weave, slub, motif placement, zari and finish are inherent to the craft and are a mark of a hand-made textile, not a defect. Two pieces of the same design will never be perfectly identical.
Colours may appear different on your screen depending on your display, its calibration and the light you view it in. We photograph our pieces as faithfully as we can, but we cannot guarantee that what you see on screen exactly matches the fabric in hand, and slight variation of this kind is not treated as a defect.
Measurements are approximate and may vary within normal tolerances for handloom. Styling items shown in photographs — blouses, jewellery, accessories, props — are for presentation only and are not included unless the listing expressly says so. Where a listing mentions an unstitched blouse piece, that is what is supplied; it is not a stitched garment.
5.Prices, taxes and errors
Prices are shown in Indian Rupees (₹) and may change at any time without notice. The price that applies to your purchase is the one we confirm to you in writing when we accept your Order.
Unless we say otherwise, prices exclude delivery charges and any applicable taxes, duties or levies, which we will tell you about before you pay. For deliveries outside India, any import duty, customs charge or local tax is payable by you and is not included in the price.
Despite our care, a Product may occasionally be listed at an incorrect price or with an incorrect description. Where the error is obvious and could reasonably have been recognised by you as a mispricing, we are not obliged to sell at the wrong price; we will contact you, give you the choice of proceeding at the correct price or cancelling, and refund you in full if you cancel.
6.Orders, payment and fraud warning
Payment is arranged directly with you at the time we confirm your Order, and is not collected on this website. The accepted payment methods, the timing of payment, and any advance required are agreed with you in that conversation. Title to a Product passes to you only when we have received payment in full.
We will never ask you for a card PIN, CVV, one-time password (OTP), UPI PIN or net-banking password. No employee or representative of ours has any reason to request those. Treat any message that does so as fraudulent, do not act on it, and report it to us at contact@saanjhsitara.com. We are not responsible for losses arising from payments you make to accounts we have not confirmed to you directly through our published channels.
Please check your Order confirmation carefully and tell us at once if anything — the piece, the price, the address — is not as you intended.
7.Delivery
Delivery timelines quoted to you are estimates. They depend on the courier, the destination, and on factors outside our control such as weather, strikes, festivals and customs clearance, and time is not of the essence unless we have expressly agreed otherwise in writing.
You are responsible for giving us a complete and accurate delivery address and a reachable phone number. We are not liable for delay or non-delivery caused by an incorrect address, an unavailable recipient, or repeated failed delivery attempts, and any re-shipping cost in those circumstances may be passed on to you.
Risk in a Product passes to you on delivery. Please inspect the parcel on arrival. If it reaches you damaged, opened, tampered with, or containing the wrong item, tell us within 48 hours of delivery, with photographs of the packaging and the item, so that we can take it up with the courier and put it right. Claims raised after that window are much harder for us to substantiate.
8.Cancellations, returns and exchanges
Because each piece is arranged individually with you, the applicable cancellation, return and exchange terms — including any window, any condition the piece must be returned in, and who bears return shipping — are agreed with you in writing when we confirm your Order, and those agreed terms apply alongside these.
As a general matter, a Product returned by agreement must be unused and unworn, in its original condition and packaging, with all tags intact, and must not have been altered, stitched, pre-draped, dry-cleaned or washed. Pieces made, sourced or customised specially for you may not be returnable.
None of this affects the case of a Product that arrives damaged, defective or materially different from what was described: tell us within the window in the previous clause and we will replace it, repair it or refund you. Approved refunds are made to the original payment method within a reasonable period of our receiving and inspecting the returned piece.
Nothing in this clause limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 that cannot be excluded by agreement.
9.Care of your saree
Handloom textiles, zari and hand embroidery need gentle handling. Unless we advise otherwise for a particular piece, we recommend dry-cleaning only, storing the saree in a breathable cotton or muslin wrap away from direct sunlight and damp, and avoiding perfume, deodorant and jewellery catching the weave. We cannot accept responsibility for damage, colour change or wear resulting from washing, ironing, storage, alteration or cleaning that departs from this guidance, or from normal wear and tear.
10.Intellectual property
All content on this website — including the Saanjh Sitara name and logo, text, photographs, styling, layout, graphics and design elements — is owned by us or used under licence, and is protected by copyright, trade-mark and other laws. Our designs, motifs and compositions remain our intellectual property.
You may view the site and share links to it for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, download, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from our content without our prior written permission, and you may not use our photographs or designs for your own commercial purposes, for manufacturing, or to compile any dataset or train any machine-learning model.
If you send us photographs, reviews or testimonials — for example a picture of yourself in one of our sarees — you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use them to promote the label, on our site and social channels, with attribution where appropriate. You confirm you have the right to give that permission, and you can ask us to stop using such material at any time by writing to contact@saanjhsitara.com.
11.Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the site for any unlawful, fraudulent or deceptive purpose;
- impersonate us, our team or any other person, or misrepresent your association with anyone;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its administrative area, its accounts or its underlying infrastructure, or probe or test their security;
- scrape, crawl, mirror or harvest content or images from the site except as our robots.txt permits;
- introduce malware, or launch any attack that interferes with the availability or performance of the site;
- resell our Products as your own, or hold yourself out as an authorised reseller or stockist without our written agreement;
- post or send anything unlawful, defamatory, obscene, hateful or infringing through our contact channels.
We may suspend or refuse service to anyone who breaches this clause, and may report unlawful activity to the authorities.
12.Availability of the site
We aim to keep the site available but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access. We may suspend, withdraw, restrict or change all or any part of the site — including taking it offline for maintenance — without notice and without liability to you. We may also change or discontinue Products at any time. Access to the site from territories where its content is unlawful is not permitted, and you are responsible for complying with local laws where you access it.
13.Third-party links and services
The site links to third-party services, including WhatsApp, and relies on third-party providers for hosting, analytics and delivery. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, products, security or policies. Any link is provided for convenience and is not an endorsement; following one is at your own risk and subject to that provider’s terms.
14.Disclaimers
The site and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all representations, warranties and conditions not expressly set out in these terms — including as to accuracy, completeness, continuous availability, freedom from viruses, or fitness for a particular purpose. Information on the site is provided for general guidance and does not amount to advice on which you should rely.
15.Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, business, goodwill, data or opportunity, however arising, in connection with the site or a Product.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with your use of the site or any Order is limited to the amount you actually paid us for the Order giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law — including your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
16.Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against any claim, loss, liability, cost or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the site, your infringement of any intellectual property or other right, or your violation of any law.
17.Events outside our control
We are not liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where that failure or delay results from an event beyond our reasonable control — including natural disaster, flood, fire, epidemic or pandemic, war, civil unrest, strike or labour dispute, failure of power or telecommunications, courier or supply-chain disruption, or act of government. Where such an event occurs we will tell you, and if it continues for an unreasonable period either of us may cancel the affected Order, in which case we will refund any amount you have paid for it.
18.General
- Entire agreement. These terms, our Privacy Policy and the Order confirmation we send you are the whole agreement between us about your use of the site and your purchase, and replace any earlier understanding.
- Severability. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it is severed and the remaining provisions continue in force.
- No waiver. If we do not insist on a right at some point, that is not a waiver of it and does not prevent us from enforcing it later.
- Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our written consent. We may assign ours to a successor of the business, without reducing your protections.
- No agency. Nothing here creates a partnership, joint venture, agency or employment relationship between us.
- Notices. Notices to us should be sent to contact@saanjhsitara.com; notices to you go to the email address or phone number you gave us.
19.Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms at any time to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. The version published on this page when you use the site is the version that applies to you, so please check back from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when we last changed them. Changes do not affect an Order we confirmed before the change took effect.
20.Governing law and disputes
These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, their subject matter or formation — whether contractual or not — are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, and the courts of competent jurisdiction in India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over them.
Before starting proceedings, please raise the matter with us using the contact details below — most issues are resolved quickly and in good faith once we know about them.
21.Contact and grievance redressal
For questions about these terms, or to raise a grievance about a Product or an Order, write to contact@saanjhsitara.com or message us on WhatsApp at +91 70118 49219. Please include your Order details and, where relevant, photographs.
We aim to acknowledge grievances within 48 hours and to resolve them within one month of receipt.
